Graffiti Art

In the middle of Kahului lies a series of snaking drainage ditches and waterways.  These paintings caught my eye.  Not visible from the street, I wonder what the tags signify...

  1. these are monikers. Looks to be those of young kids. The one on top looks to be "DSN" which looks to be a krew name. you can tell these kids are inexperienced by the excessive amount of paint drips that seem to be embraced. This is generally something experienced graffiti writers tend to avoid.
The second "bomb" says "ARA" this also apears to be a crew.

The third says "Gus" you can tell he or she new to the graffiti scene by the "can control" the white force field should sit right on the black 3d but yet its laid very sloppy. Directionless arrows is also a crutch of the beginner.

The Blue And White looks to say "Arab" this would be someone a little older or more exposed to the graffiti community but still very young and new.

The last two are doodles of someone who seems to have tagged along. No pun intended. Generally a "charactor writer" sticks to a single character with few variations.

The whole wall seemed to be a group of young boys 12-17 who picked up a few dollar can blacks and whites from home depot and decided to experiment with graffiti.
