Rescue at Sea

As boat operators, we all secretly love to hate the U.S. Coast Guard.  The Coasties bust chops, surprise us with random inspections, and issue tickets.  However, once the proverbial s*#@ hits the fan, they are often our only hope.  Today, a recreational boater out fishing was stranded all alone 3 miles past Molokini in the vast blue sea.  Drifting aimlessly, their engine not responsive, the crew of the fishing boat made the right decision and called for help.  Arriving at their aid was the shiny new Coast Guard craft from Maalaea Harbor.  Attached to the Coast Guard like a remora, the fishing boat was idly towed into Kihei Boat Ramp.  However, all was not lost, a crew member happily reported that they did indeed catch a Mahi-Mahi.

Here's a close-up of the rescued vessel and the Coast Guard craft.
